    Do I need an estimate?
    Yes, and it’s free. Call us or fill out the quote form, tell us about your home, the access at both addresses, and your moving date. We’ll give you a free moving quote with a written time estimate, no in-home visit needed. Since you pay by the hour, the estimate shows how long the move should take, so you can plan your budget before you book.
    What are your price rates?
    Our rates are hourly and include the truck and fuel. A 2-mover crew is $139–$169 per hour (standard rate $159), a 3-mover crew is $179–$209 per hour (standard rate $199), and a 4-mover crew is $219–$249 per hour (standard rate $239). Each additional mover adds $40 per hour, and every move has a 3-hour minimum.
    How is the cost of my move calculated?
    Your cost is the hourly rate for your crew multiplied by the time the move takes. Time depends on how much you’re moving, stairs and elevators, the walk from the truck to the door, and any packing or disassembly. If your pickup and drop-off are more than 10 miles apart, California law requires the drive time between them to be counted twice, so 15 minutes of driving is billed as 30.
    Do you have hidden fees or charges?
    No. Double Move has no hidden fees or surprise charges. Stairs and long carries don’t come with separate fees; they only add time. Heavy or specialty items and double drive time on longer routes are discussed upfront and included in your written estimate, so you know what to expect before moving day.
    What’s included in the hourly rate?
    Every hourly rate includes the truck and fuel, a trained W-2 crew, moving blankets, shrink wrap and tape, garment boxes for the day, dollies, straps, and door frame protection. We also unmount TVs, take apart and reassemble furniture, and provide a certificate of insurance for buildings that require one. Floor protection is available on request.
    Do you require deposits?
    Yes. A $200 deposit confirms your moving date and arrival window. If you cancel at least 48 hours before your move, the deposit is refunded. With less notice, it becomes non-refundable, but we’ll do our best to reschedule your move instead.
    Do I have to pay extra for a moving truck?
    No. The truck and fuel are included in your hourly rate, so there’s no separate rental or fuel charge. Your written estimate shows everything that goes into the cost of your move before you book.
    Are your quotes binding?
    No, our estimates are non-binding. Because you pay by the hour, the written estimate shows how much time your move should take, and the final bill reflects the actual time on the job. Accurate details about your items and access help keep the estimate close to the final total.
